A few things I learned this past week.
1. Our family is not made to do school, as in driving to and from school every. single. day. My 4 kids attended a camp this past week. Not a typical kind of camp you might be thinking (ha ha) but a homeschool camp where they learn now to write! haa haaa. I'm such a nerd, huh??? They liked it a lot~! THis was their 2nd year going to it and I didn't shove them into the rooms-they willingly wanted to....so that shows you that they HAD to like it! :P Well, the kids were in separate groups that met a different times, which made the Mommy Taxi drive 3 different times to this place. In. One. Day. Ouch. Naps were messed up, laundry and vaccuming didn't get done, and dishes and pots crowded my sink and kitchen counter tops. It was a mess. I was a total mess. Interesting that their sleeping habits were disturbed too. Very odd. I know it was not a random thing. I cannot imagine having to do this every day of every week of every month of every year. Wow, kudos go to the mommas that can do this or can do this. For me, homeschooling is our primary method of life. Period.
2. Playing a Saint Memory Game is very fun for kidos. Keeps them entertained for a while! I guess you can make your own and it would be easy to do. But that means time and I don't have much of that right now.
3. Ok, so we have some big news. When DON'T we have news?!?! So, you know about our baby so it can't be that and no, we are not having twins. (ha!). The big news is that we are moving. I have eluded to that point a while ago in some post that I am too lazy to look up right now. I may have even mentioned it a few times. Well, it is official. We are moving as in moving to a new state!!!! Boy, the most stressful things are having babies, moving and it seems we are doing both! My hubby and I laugh so much at how sometimes we just invite this chaos-it seems it's been there our whole marriage-babies and moving every 2ish years. This is just ridiculous. So, we have decided this move if final, albeit God willing. We are moving and going to settle there, giving the most needed stability to our family. It is going to be soon and life is a bit uneasy right now with one contract with a house that we really liked and knew it was JUST what we needed, but the day we had our inspection and my hubby was down there-a very questionable future next door neighbor approached my hubby and real estate agent. It was too creepy to ignore and after lots of talking, prayer and advice from our wonderful agent, we pulled out. Again, a trial. Again, a time to trust God's providence. He knows what is best and we count this as a blessing that we found out now rather than later. It was a blessing, even though big chunks of money was lost. God will provide.
4. Prayer.
Doesn't God have a way to bring us to our knees? Why, yes He does!!! Lots of prayer and prayer in our family lately. Again, a blessing.
5. Lastly, Alpacas are super cool animals. Check out this pic:
This sunshine girl got to give 33 alpacas a bath, feed them, and even take this one for a walk!!! It was our long awaited special day out together (and it just so happens to be close to her 7th bday too!!! :)

Random---ness Quick Takes
1.......My 2 girls and 2 little boys are making tents out of blankets, cushions, couches-whatever....you name it, they are using it.
2......My 2 big boys are playing with matchbox cars and BLUTRACK race car track.
3.....We made chocolate chip oatmeal cookies and hot chocolate. Some rainy days just need those 2!!!: )
4......I found a few great links on how to live frugally. For some odd reason I cannot seem to link up anything!!! (very annoying!)
Once it works again, I'll post them for sure...
5.....We made an easy dinner for tonight. So easy my 3 and 5 yr old pretty much did it themselves (well, I did brown the meat first!!!)
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
can or frozen green beans
1 can garbonzo beans
2 cans of cream of mushroom soup (do not add milk)
1 bag of french fried onions
2 bags of tator tots on top
brown meat, drain and put in 9 x 13 dish
drain can green beans or just put on frozen green beans
drain and put on 1 can garbonzo bean (chick peas)
smooth on the cream of mushroom soup
put on top the onion and then layer the tator tots on top of that!
EASY PEASY!
Yummy! All my kidos eat tons of this dinner! :)
We always bake up whatever tator tots were not used on top...my kids love love tator tots!

Because she is just this way...
My (now*) 5 yr old chick-a-dee is just this way...
At lunch yesterday, after taking a bite of cheddar cheese, says:
"Mom, this cheese is just so....cheesy, ya know?"
("Yes, my dear, it is very cheesy!")-haaa haaa :) Love it!
We had our Physical Education class yesterday meet up to get the kids their timed runs around the track. The little kids did a 1/4 mile, slightly bigger kids a 1/2 mile and the big big kids did a whole mile around the track. It was a chilly 35-38* out there! All the kids all did super!
My oldest 3 ran and did great! :) They had their eyes focused on their goal-the finished line. It was so great to see them being so proud of themselves, knowing they did their best, fighting and pushing for a good time on the timers. They like competition, some even more than others, esp. my oldest daughter. She did not look away ONCE from that finish line! She surely takes after my hubby-they are 2 peas in a pod, those competitors.
But there is one little chick-a-dee sunshine girl that is a bit more like, uhm...me.
I am not a big competitor person. I like us all to 'just get along'! :)
At that PE class running, my little chick-a-dee of a 5 yr old just took her lil' ol' time. That is how she is. That is her nature. Not a bother to be the last one running as she glances around looking at the pretty fall colored trees as she ran by. At the end, everyone was cheering and a big smile was on her face, but she did not speed it up at all :)
She was so happy having a good time, taking her time, and she was so glad that the cheerers were having as big as a smile as she had.
Precious.
Cute.
Sweet.
Because simply....that is just how she is.
She is just 'that' way.
I hope it lasts. :) There is so much innocence and sweetness about her. I love it! I love her!
Thank you God for this daughter in my life, she brings the sunshine and makes it brighter for all of us!

Q&A about Heaven w/ a 5 yr old
While my kids were watching "The Sound of Music", my sweetie 5 yr old runs up to me and says:
"Mom? Can we sleep in Heaven?"
I replied with a smile and did not quite know what to say. So, I said what every other educated Mommy out there would have said. I said:
"Well, honey, what do YOU think? Do YOU think we'll sleep in Heaven?"
She replies:
"Oh, I don't know..."
She does a little twirl dance (what every 5 yr old does! :)heee heee) and then says this sentence in giggles and smiles:
"But, Mom, I will surely need to sleep in Heaven! I will definetly need to sleep! B/c I will just fall asleep, I'll be so tired!"
Don't you just LOVE 5 yr old kids?!?!
They are so innocent, so happy, so very adorable!
I think that question was answered.
Enough said from our sweet 5 yr old. :)

Happy Bday to my 5 yr old!!!
On Sunday, August 29th, 5 yrs ago....our most chunky baby was born!!!

Growing legs or wings?
My children and I have a funny joke that I say when they cannot find a certain item. For example, if they lost a shoe I usually say "Well, it did not all of a sudden grow legs and leave our house, now did it?" We both laugh and the point gets across to them. They go off and keep looking for the lost item. (And...St. Anthony is a good helper too!:))
Today, we were all outside all the while enjoying this beautiful 68* sunny weather, I noticed my 4 year old not wearing her shoes, just her socks.
Again, I said "What happened to your shoes? I got it! They did not grow legs this time...they grew wings! They flew up in the air, over the rainbow and into a cloud! Do you think that is what happened?"
She laughed. I laughed. My 7 year old daughter laughed too then added:
"Mom, that is not real."
I replied "Of course not, honey."
"Yeah, I mean...there is no rainbow today!" She says back to me.
HAAAA HAAAA!!!
Yup! You're right, no rainbow, but not quite the real reason I was looking for!!! haaa haaa! LOL :)

Sibling love
4 year old sunshine sweetie is helping me make a special dinner. A peanut butter and jelly dinner to be exact.
"Here is just a peanut butter sandwhich for T. And wait a minute, he likes it with no crusts so I'll take them off for him."
HOW DARLING! I won't even take off his crusts but his 4 yr old sister sure will!
What a buddy.
Reminds me of the song from Toy Story "You've got a friend in me..."!!!

A Donut Cake!
It is the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes today! My kids got the privilege of watching The Song of Bernadette, which we are about 1/2 way through. Amazing that they still enjoy those black and white movies! Don't let IMAX fool you! haaaa haaaa!
Anyway, while they watched, I made a bunt blue cake to celebrate this feast day and also my 4 year old daughter's middle name day- Bernadette!
When she saw the cake, her eyes lit up with happiness and joy and a big smile across her face....saying "Oh Momma! A donut cake! I knew you would make me a donut cake! I knew you would!!!"
How precious she is to respond with such gratefulness for making a DONUT cake! I love it!

Golden efforts
Okay, so this is really funny...
Our 4 year old daughter was coloring the same picture that her 7 year old sister was coloring- pics from THIS LINK. Obviously, she is younger and still learning how to stay in the lines etc... so she exclaims: "Mom, my picture is nasty. It is so nasty!"
HA HA! How could I NOT laugh!?!? Poor thing. FYI-she did persevere and kept trying!
Isn't that what we are ALL called to do?!
We mess up, but not to be discouraged....we keep trying and trying.
All these efforts are worth gold in the sight of God!

The Run
Not sure why I did not ever post this-probably forgot with how our month of Sept. turned out. Remember? Let's try to forget now! Anyway...
I aboslutely LOVE this pic-the Labor Day Race in 'our' nearest big city. The 4 runners in my family-my hubby ran the 20K-great time and beat his last years time. Nice job! My 4 'oldest' kids ran the kids' run-my 8, 7, 5 and even my 4 yr old.
My 4 year old on the right was soooo cute. Mind you, the rules were the child had to turn 4 by the race on Labor day and she did-only a few days prior! AND the 4 and 5 year old were getting over the chicken pox so they the crusted over little spots all over them. What a sight they were!
The race began and the kids all ran, tumbled over each other and then ran( heee heee)...but she did not budge. She just stood there with her Daddy next to her. Once all the kids were out of sight and around the corner, she looked up at Daddy and stated "Now, I am ready!"
A girl after my own heart-not one for competition!!! ;)...just like her Mommy. Definitely not like her Daddy with competition!
Being so unbelievaly cute and so very small!, the newspaper got a shot of her and it made the front page of the sports section! She was, officially, the 3rd from last. Once she began to run, though, she did not stop for the whole 1 mile run! We are so proud of her!

Play Babysitter!
This morning, my 2 year old walks by and says: "Mom? See? I am the babysitter." And there he was looking so very adorable and pushing 4 dollies in the blue stroller. This little guy loves to play dollies and be the daddy with his 4 yr old sister as the mommy. Way too cute for words.

Do you see something wrong with this?
There is a special little girls' 4th Birthday tomorrow, August 29th. She truly is my little sunshine. Do you remember what happened 4 years ago on this day? I can remember it like it was yesterday (that is a big deal for me! My memory is the pits, as you may know). Exactly a 1/2 hour AFTER my sunshine was born did it hit and we were watching the news. Don't ask. I guess for Baby #4 and thereafter, the TV tends to go on much quicker after giving birth! ha ha. Well, for the following 3 days I was glued to the TV news and on every station was coverage of this nasty and terrible disaster. In fact, the nurses would come to me for hourly news updates!
Now, onto what I meant to JUST write about (but you know how a Momma's mind works! Constantly multitasking)...
After lunch a few minutes ago, we were discussing birthday gifts and my older children were convincing this special birthday girl on what would be a terrific gift and what would be the best birthday breakfast meal (chocolate chip pancakes) and the best birthday lunch (McDonald's-uhm, I don't think so but I may cave in- she is so darn cute!) and then my oldest says, with a serious face: "Mom, can you kill me?"
You should have SEEN MY FACE! as I said "WHAT?!"
And he answers "Yeah, so that way I can go to Heaven! That would be the best gift EVER!"
Okay, so I guess we've got his religion class up to par. But, I do think we need to focus a bit more on The 10 Commandments! Specifically #5 and #4 too!

Kick Ball Game
Last night after dinner, we went outside b/c of this great weather lately- it was 82 degrees today! We had a great family game of kickball. Kid#3 was on 1st, Me and baby in sling was on 2nd, and kid #4 was on 3rd base. Kid #2 was up to kick the ball coming from Daddy the pitcher. She kicked and off she went running; and I was coaching kid #4 (who is only 3~!) "Run home~! Run home!"
And did she "Run home!"
She ran right into her little play house (kinda like this one), closed the door behind her and yelled "I'm home!"
I guess it was one of those times that you just had to see it. As for hubby and I, we were laughing hysterically!!! It was so cute, so darling!

Die-Hard Blogger
Okay, I think I have become a die-hard blogger. Take this for instance, just a few minutes ago, I foolishly thought that ALL my kids were playing charades (thanks H! for the idea!) but my kid #3 ran to me and told me that kid #4 and #5 were in the bathroom, and that the bathroom sink is full of bubbles and overflowing onto the floor.
So, what does one do?
Of course, run to grab my camera and off I go running to capture the moment, all the time thinking..."this will be a great post!"
Okay, so I need a life.
But enough about me, here is the photo you are dying to see....

Twins? Think again.
Lately, my kids are into calling themselves twins if they wear the same colors or eat the same food or both wearing boots and just about anything alike.
I made hot chocolate for their afternoon 'snack' today and they had a choice of a blue or a green straw. My kid #2 and #3 who are close in age- 18 months gleefully called themselves 'twins' b/c they picked the same color blue straws. No other comments were made by the peanut gallery. They actually look a lot like twins b/c of their identical sizes!
Then my kid #4 who is 3 called herself and my kid #1 who is 8 years old 'twins' b/c they picked the same color green straws. My 8 year old looked up at me and quietly said (not to upset the 3 year old) "Mom, we are not even close to twins." Obviously he is not enthralled by the others' definition of a twin!
